In last week’s inTraining webinar, Would You Apply to Your Job Posting, we covered tips on creating quality job postings to attract quality candidates. You, the physician recruiter, have so much impact on your organization. You impact the kind of physicians you hire, awareness of your employer brand and revenue to your organization, just to name a few. Beyond working hard to create inspiring job postings, what else can you do to get your jobs seen?

  • Post ALL of your jobs. Posting all of your current opportunities ensures that candidates searching the database will see it, even if they’re searching confidentially (especially if they don’t want their employer to know they’re looking). Remember, registration is NOT required for candidates to search for jobs. But anonymous candidates are not receiving any notifications of new opportunities that match their criteria and you can’t find them in your search. In addition, some candidates choose an optional “invisible” mode when searching. That means your job postings on PracticeLink.com are the main way to attract these valuable passive candidates.
  • Create a specific posting for each opportunity. It’s tempting to copy and paste job postings for different specialties and facilities. But, not providing specifics could result in a candidate overlooking a job simply because it was lumped into one generic posting. If there are any differences in each opportunity, even minor ones, go ahead and post them separately – highlighting the individual features.
  • If your opportunity is filled, keep your posting active. Have you filled your immediate opening but expect more like it available in the near future? Leave your job posted and active. When physicians apply for this position, explain to them it’s been filled but that you’ll keep them in your pipeline for future openings. You are making a connection early! You never know what the future hold for your or for the physician, but now you know they’re interested in your organization.

Even if a candidate doesn’t apply to your job posting yet, the exposure to your organization and brand through your posts is still important. When the candidate consistently and more frequently sees your logo within your organizational profile, on your job posting and throughout your website it is building a stronger employer brand resulting in more traffic and clicks from potential candidates. You’ve already taken the time to create your fabulous postings, so why not take a few extra steps to make sure your opportunities don’t go unnoticed!
