Calling all brand ambassadors - do you know your top physicians?

If you don’t know who your current top physicians are, figuring out who they are should be at the top of your priority list! One of the best ways to convey a strong employer brand for attracting new talent is by equipping your current physicians to act as brand ambassadors. Your providers are, after all, both the face of your brand and the people who best understand what it is like to practice within your organization. They can provide a clear picture for potential hires about things like:

  • The culture of your organization
  • Your organization’s mission, vision and values and how those affect one’s work life
  • A day in the life of a physician employee
  • Your community and what it is like to live in it

So stop and ask yourself, “Who are the best fits already in my organization?” Once you’ve identified them, consult with those top physicians and ask them what they like best about the organization and the community. What types of things were of interest to those physicians when they were hired? What details were important and appealing to them? This is the type of audience you want to write to when creating your job postings, print ads, and any other media and communication channels.

A great way to highlight these brand ambassadors is to use testimonials within your job postings, ads, and on your Slideshow or YouTube features. Shoot a quick video of one of your top physicians, upload it to YouTube, and share it within your PracticeLink Online job posting. You can also use snippets from their testimonials as captions on your Slideshows. Bringing your current physicians into the recruitment process and having them interact with and host your visiting candidates is key to creating brand ambassadors. Employee referrals account for only 6.9 percent of job applications, but yield 39.9 percent of hires, according to Jobvite Index.
This makes sense when you consider that your physicians likely already have an understanding of the personalities and skillsets that would fit well within your organization. And, because these new hires are their future colleagues, your current physicians will be motivated to find great fits.

Using your current top physicians as a recruitment strategy should be a no-brainer! Your physicians are a reliable marketing resource that you already have. Time to get busy figuring out who your brand ambassadors are, and put their stories to work in your recruitment process!
