The most successful recruiters go the distance! According to a 2015 PracticeLink survey of more than 600 physicians, 73% of job-seeking physicians are either looking to relocate or unsure about their location preferences. This makes actively recruiting outside your territory a wise recruitment move if you want to reach a broader pool of physicians and increase your brand awareness among potential candidates.

Here are three more great reasons to recruit outside your territory:
  • Due to the Resident Matching Program, training physicians may not always land in their preferred geographic regions. As a result, candidates who are interested in your area could potentially be located anywhere in the country.
  • If you focus all your efforts on your own region, you’re only building your employer brand among candidates who already know about you. Don’t neglect the huge pool of candidates who may simply be unfamiliar with your organization.
  • Physicians know physicians. The farther you spread word of your jobs, the more likely you’ll be to recruit your next hire. One physician who’s uninterested in your area may have a colleague who’s a perfect fit!

Broaden your candidate pool by recruiting nationwide!
