Tina McLaughlin, senior physician recruiter for Mountain States Health Alliance, recognizes physician recruitment as an opportunity to impact a community's future. Though recruiting candidates can be a tough task, she's been encouraged over the years by community members who've been directly helped by her efforts. "Members of the community have personally come up to me and thanked me for bringing quality providers to our area to help them, their friends and their family," she says.
We recently had a chance to sit down with Tina, who's used PracticeLink for 11 years, to hear about her experiences in physician recruitment—and how she makes PracticeLink part of her daily routine. Watch the video or read the Q&A below to hear the conversation.
What does it mean to you to be a physician recruiter?
"What it means to me to be a physician recruiter is knowing I’m pre-screening and assisting to find the most qualified candidates to join our medical staff ... and in doing so, I’m helping our community for generations to come."
What tool has had the biggest effect on your success?
"The tool that has had the biggest impact on my physician recruitment success is PracticeLink. ... PracticeLink helps me with my recruitment challenges because I'm able to post our active openings on the PracticeLink site, so active physicians who are looking for jobs can see our active openings. ... The PracticeLink tools I use the most are their daily emails for new PracticeLink candidates who have registered, and inDepth Interviews from candidates they have interviewed, and PracticeLink Magazine and the PracticeLink newsletter.”
How does PracticeLink fit into your daily routine?
"PracticeLink fits into my daily routine because each morning when I come into the office I have an email waiting from them that shows their newly registered candidates, and I can look through those to see if any of those candidates match any of my current active openings."
