The Association of Staff Physician Recruiters’ annual conference is the biggest week of the year for the PracticeLink team. It’s an opportunity for us to connect with hundreds of our clients, meet new friends, share news on our latest developments, and simply say thank you for the past year’s business. We spend months preparing, and announcing the festivities ahead is almost as much fun as the conference itself. This year, we are excited to announce the launch of our latest release, PL5.

This year’s ASPR conference, slated for April 21–25 in Chicago, promises all of the excitement of previous conferences with a few twists. Here’s what you should know before you go.

1. Innovation Theatre

New in 2018, ASPR will introduce Innovation Theatre. Presenters are invited to share a unique and innovative product or service demonstration. These 25-minute presentations are scheduled in the afternoons during the breakout tracks.

We hope you will join us on Monday, April 23, at 1:45 p.m. for a presentation, The Brave New World of Physician Recruitment, by our founder/CEO Ken Allman, who will unveil exciting new technology. Our development team has been working for two years to bring PL5, a new recruitment management system, to our clients. We have been focused on developing the best way to help you find the best possible physician in the fastest possible time for the lowest possible price. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to.

2. Keynote Speaker

Every year ASPR brings the brightest leaders in health care to their conference stage, and this year is no different. Keynote speaker Dr. Kevin Pho, widely known as KevinMD, a social media superstar and the founder of KevinMD.com, is a leading physician voice in today’s complicated and evolving health care landscape. PracticeLink is proud to sponsor Dr. Pho’s address on Monday morning at 9.

Ken is looking forward to taking the stage to introduce Dr. Pho and officially kick off a day full of professional development and the best of the physician recruitment world. Fifty lucky attendees will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Pho and receive a signed copy of his book, Establishing, Managing, and Protecting Your Online Reputation: A Social Media Guide for Physicians and Medical Practices.

3. A Night Out with PracticeLink

On Tuesday, April 24, from 6 to 9 p.m., we hope you’ll join us down the street at SPiN Chicago (344 N. State St.), a ping pong social club. Take our word for it—ping pong isn’t just for kids. This trendy club has exploded in big cities across the country, combining the interactive fun of ping pong with a lively club atmosphere, complete with a DJ spinning tunes and a mixologist crafting specialty drinks.

We invite you to let your competitive nature show by challenging a colleague to a match. Or, if you’re more of a spectator, you’ll enjoy watching professional players who will be showing off their skills. Attendees will receive their very own PracticeLink ping pong paddle set. You may just bring the fun of ping pong back to your office conference table (results may vary)!

4. Giveaway-a-Day

One of our favorite parts of ASPR every year is coming up with the giveaways available each day when you stop by our booth (#308). On Sunday, you’ll receive a sleek, black PracticeLink vest with the Recruit. Hire. Heal. tagline on the back right shoulder. We want you to keep warm in style while you’re in the windy city.
