We’re, of course, very honored by these distinctions. But, more importantly, we’re proud of the fact that we continue to deliver relevant and important content to 80,000 residents, fellows, and job-seeking physicians four times per year.

What this means for you:

PracticeLink Magazine is much more than an award-winning publication. For us, it’s an important part of how we fulfill our mission of helping our clients recruit and hire the physicians their communities need. We have long believed that associating and building your employer brand alongside the quality content of PracticeLink Magazine can have a positive impact on other important aspects of your recruitment effort.

Building and promoting your employer brand is as important as promoting your open opportunities. Employer brand is perhaps most important to the long-term health of your physician recruitment department. Unfortunately, building a brand is challenging. Measuring brand effectiveness is even more challenging.

Not sure what employer branding is? Check out our recent blog explaining what is employer branding.

What we know about branding

Consumers make judgements about a brand based on the content it is next to. You probably recall the huge backlash YouTube faced last year when advertisers discovered their brands were being promoted on violent and extremist videos. The largest companies in the world, like Proctor & Gamble, know that appearing next to objectionable or low-quality content is bad for business.

Likewise, we know that the content in PracticeLink Magazine must support and bring value to our advertisers. That’s why we are particularly proud to have earned a Silver Award for Best How-To Article. PracticeLink Magazine’s content isn’t just good for our readers; it’s good for your employer brand, too.

Another thing that makes employer branding so challenging is the fact that it’s visual, emotive, and subjective. Knowing how your recent job posting is performing is easy to track by the number of applications it generates. On the other hand, knowing how candidates feel about your employer brand is a different thing altogether. The feeling a candidate has about an employer often influences, both consciously and unconsciously, whether the candidate applies.

We are very careful about the look we portray in PracticeLink Magazine because we know color, imagery and visual appeal are critical to branding. They impact how our readers feel about the PracticeLink brand, and that feeling extends to our advertisers.

So, a Gold Award for Best Cover: Computer-Generated and Silver Award for Best Opening Page/Spread: Photo is the sort of feedback we crave when it comes to our design and photography. For us, it means our visual presence brings value to our advertisers.

Building and promoting your employer brand is a complex and multi-faceted venture. It goes beyond associating your organization next to quality content in a visually appealing way to include things like employee satisfaction and retention and corporate culture. But, advertising in PracticeLink Magazine is a good first step.

We mentioned our Silver Award for Best Single Issue in all of healthcare, didn’t we?
