The results are in for the latest PracticeLink Physician Recruitment Index, a quarterly analysis of the medical specialties that are the most challenging to recruit and the most in demand.
And for the second quarter in a row, gynecologic oncologists are once again the most challenging to recruit physicians.
This makes the specialty's fourth recent appearance on the Physician Recruitment Index. It debuted on the Index as the 15th most challenging in Winter 2017—and has been in the top three of the most challenging to recruit ever since.
Three new specialties made it onto the Index of the most challenging to recruit this quarter:
Beyond these, the Index remained fairly stable, with only one specialty making a significant jump—Pediatrics - Physical Medicine & Rehab, up 11 spots.
