The hardest specialties to recruit in the physician job market

For the third quarter in a row, “Oncology – Gynecological” is the physician recruitment industry’s hardest specialty to recruit.

The market has gotten even tighter this quarter for those looking to hire gynecologic oncologists. In the summer of 2017, when the specialty reached the top of the Index of the Most Challenging to Recruit Specialties, there were 9 jobs available for every job-seeking candidate. Now, there are 12.

Pediatric intensivists also retained their spot—number two—on this quarter’s Most Challenging list.
